The NY Times' "Critics' Pick" documentary Rock Rubber 45s, which Omar produced, was a standout selection at the Smithsonian's debut African American Film Festival in 2018. Omar's directorial debut, Mixtape (2023, explores the creation, rise, and cultural significance of the mixtape phenomenon.
